LMA Catfest 2008

This past weekend, Parker's school had their annual Halloween carnival that they call Catfest! Each class runs a game of some sort during the carnival and they also have a haunted hayride, pony rides, a live band...tons of stuff. With me being the "class mom" I had to organize our game which was Lucky Ducks. It was ALOT of work but in the end it was fun and it gave me a chance to finally meet some of the other parents.

Parker choose to be Ariel the Little Mermaid and she was too cute!

Spirit Week

Hello All!
We have just started Spirit Week for the Homecoming game on Friday. I am hoping to get a picture everday of Miss Parker to post. Here is a run down of the dress attire for the week...

Monday-Hunting and Fishing Day (remember...the school is in Manning - HA!HA!)
Tuesday-Inside Out Day
Wednesday-Pajama Day
Thursday-Hippy Day
Friday-Orange and Blue Day

So with today being Hunting and Fishing day of course the obvious was camoflauge but you all know me, I dont do anything like anyone else. I found some cute pink camo pants and sweet Ava passed down a t-shirt that went perfect with it. We added a little pink and green camo paint to her face and we were set! She was the hit of the school because everyone noticed her...just like her momma HA!HA!

My Little Cheerleader

Today Parker was able to wear her LMA (Laurence Manning Academy) cheerleading uniform to school for game day! She was absolutely so excited. As you can see she was practicing her cheers before school. Things have gotten easier with dropping her off in the mornings. Although we are still adjusting to the fact that Miss P insists on not sleeping through the night but I am hoping that will change SOON! She has made many friends and now looks forward to going. You should hear her recite the Pledge of Allegiance, it is completely adorable. I have started volunteering in the library three days a week so it gives me something to do while she is busy learning! GO SWAMPCATS!!!

OMG!

So I have run into a bit of a problem. From my last post, you see the smiling happy little girl going to her first day of school. Well...that is no longer! Today was just our third day and it was by far the hardest obstacle I have EVER had to overcome. It started in the middle of the night with her waking up screaming, ''Í am not going to my new school!" She did this about five times throughout the night. Once morning came it was constant crying and screaming. I dressed her, did her hair, brushed her teeth, washed her face, and got her in the car all while she was screaming. And guess what...all the way to school, she cried. I left her in her classroom on the floor kicking and screaming, "Mommy don't leave me"! OMG It was heartbreaking. I managed to wait until her classroom door was shut before I shed the first tear. I cried all the way home. I paced the house until time to get her. I even got there thirty minutes early to just wait in line (well I was first so I was the line) to pick her up. I saw her coming down the hall just a smiling and laughing with the other children. She hopped into the car and said she had a good day but she wasn't go back anymore.

I knew that this would be a huge transition for her and me, but I had no idea it would be this difficult. I know she is being taken very good care of at school but she sure does put up a fight. Being a mom is tough but the speed bumps such as this, makes it so much tougher. Does anyone has some advice to pass on to a terribly worn out mom?
